Position Announcement:  Education and Outreach Coordinator

Mabel Wadsworth Women's Health Center is seeking a full-time, energetic, self-directed and experienced Education and Outreach Coordinator who supports full reproductive rights, including the right to choose abortion, and equality for all women.  This position reports to the Executive Director.

The successful candidate will:

• serve as the coordinator of the Center’s community outreach efforts including educational programming, external communications and volunteer oversight;
• coordinate and present educational  and issues advocacy programs on a range of women’s health topics, including abortion;
• represent the Center in a variety of public forums;
• engage in both written and oral internal and external communications.

Qualifications include:  Bachelors degree and minimum three years experience in a non-profit setting; demonstrated ability in public speaking, teaching and/or training; attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to set and meet deadlines and achieve goals; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with board and community members, coworkers and volunteers; highly developed computer skills as demonstrated by proficiency in Microsoft Office with website management and familiarity with social media a plus.  Experience in women’s health strongly preferred. The ability to communicate our mission and vision in a passionate and compelling manner is critical. Valid Maine driver’s license required as statewide travel will be expected. Some evening and weekend work hours expected.
